Wakefield, Massachusetts - Mark Laquidara, Ph.D., P.E., has joined environmental consultant Metcalf & Eddy as a vice president, it was announced by company president Steven Guttenplan. He will function as the firm’s national technology leader in wastewater treatment. Commenting on M&E’s new hire, Mr. Guttenplan said, “Dr. Laquidara is going to be a huge asset for us. Our staff knows him well and respects him from his days at one of our major clients, the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA). While he will be based at our Wakefield, Massachusetts headquarters, he will support our staff nationwide.”
Mr. Laquidara completed his Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering in 1985. Shortly thereafter he joined the MWRA, which was then in the early stages of managing the Boston Harbor cleanup project. As the agency’s process engineering specialist he played a key role in the success of the new Deer Island wastewater treatment facilities, the centerpiece of the $4 billion Boston Harbor project. He then moved to U.S. Filter, where he managed the contract operations firm’s central plant support department, providing technical services for the operation of more than 275 wastewater and 75 water treatment works in North America. |
