Project Spotlight
Water treatment technology used at wastewater treatment plants?

Some M&E wastewater projects like the one in Forsyth County, Georgia use sophisticated membrane technologies that make possible beneficial reuse of the effluent.

Vulnerability Assessments

Metcalf & Eddy has helped numerous clients determine the most effective way to safeguard their environmental infrastructure in the post-9/11 environment. Our team provides comprehensive vulnerability assessments using RAM-W (modified for applicability to small and medium size water systems, as well as wastewater systems), VSAT, and other vulnerability assessment tools.

Our vulnerability assessment team is certified to provide training in the use of the risk assessment methodology developed by Sandia National Laboratories.

M&E has also developed numerous emergency response plans and procedures. Historically, these plans were to respond to service disruptions from natural causes, such as flooding, or to physical (accidental) damages, such as power outages or main breaks. Now, our emergency response plans address response, recovery, and remediation actions to man-made and/or technological emergencies identified as high priority issues in the utility's vulnerability assessment.

Services include:

  • Emergency response plans
  • First responder checklists
  • Public, agency, internal notification plans
  • Incident command system development
  • Incident reporting forms and procedures
  • Personnel and site safety plans
  • Sampling and testing protocols
  • Preparedness training and exercise programs
  • Public access advisory and control plans
