Professional Development

Metcalf & Eddy offers employees a range of programs to support their continual professional development into technical leaders, program managers and senior business leaders.

Professional Registration
M&E fully supports its staff in attaining professional registration and proficiency certifications, and in meeting continuing education requirements in their professional disciplines.

Professional Memberships
We encourage our staff to join professional societies or trade organizations related to their positions and type of work. Membership provides access to the latest technical literature and presentations, and is often a first step in establishing relationships with peers and potential clients. Committee involvement is also encouraged.

Tuition Reimbursement
We offer tuition reimbursement for graduate, undergraduate and other programs conducted by accredited colleges and universities

Training
M&E continually provides formal training and informal sessions on a variety of topics to all employees by instructors, senior staff and outside vendors at multiple locations.

Performance Excellence Awards
Our Performance Excellence Awards program recognizes and rewards outstanding quality performance by staff professionals who have made significant contributions to the firm's success. The program is conducted through nomination by peers and is available to all employees.

Paper Presentation and Publication Support
This program acknowledges our employees' achievements with cash awards and paper preparation time compensation. You may even qualify to attend and present your paper at an industry conference or specialty seminar.

Brown Bag Seminars
Working on challenging assignments often results in use of an innovative process, material or construction technique. We encourage the sharing of these professional experiences with your colleagues at lunchtime Brown Bag seminars. These presentations are frequently video-linked to other offices to ensure information is shared with the largest audience possible.

Service Awards
We value long-term service. Employee milestones are acknowledged at 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 40 and even at 45 years of service! Our employee service longevity and retention rate speaks volumes regarding our supportive work environment and the dedication of our staff.
